Quick Tide : la passerelle kaléidoscopique de Felipe Pantone

Along the Thames, in the Design District, the Greenwich Peninsula neighborhood aims to be modern and futuristic. Close to "The Tide," an elevated park has been designed by architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro. A footbridge has been taken over by the Italian artist.

La signification de cette œuvre de Felipe Pantone

This murals explores the impact of the shifting light spectrum on color. Like a giant kaleidoscope, it transforms the angular shapes of the footbridge. This allows passersby to appreciate its perspectives depending on the surrounding light. The variations also depend on their position in space.

By using a single radial gradient contained within a square, in cyan, magenta, and yellow. By moving and rotating the same image throughout the structure, I obtained infinite combinations of the visible color spectrum. These details are usually easy to find in the form of chromatic aberrations in prints when viewed with a magnifying glass; it's fantastic to be able to observe this phenomenon on such a massive scale in this installation.
