Current trends in signage

active design

This innovative approach uses visual and graphic elements to subtly influence people's behavior in public spaces. By integrating patterns, colors and visual cues, active design encourages citizens to adopt more positive behaviors. For example, physical activity or the discovery of new places. This method is based on behavioral psychology and seeks to guide individuals towards beneficial choices without imposing strict rules, but by influencing their perception of space.

Urban signage and routes

Artistic signage enhances the tourist experience by making cities more accessible and immersive. By using visual elements such as colored lines, murals or graphic markers on the ground, cities can guide visitors along routes that enhance local heritage. These markers encourage tourists to discover sites that are often overlooked, and to explore cultural, historical or artistic sites beyond traditional tourist areas. This approach makes exploration more interactive and memorable, while creating a fun and engaging experience.

Signage and health

This type of signage is an effective way of combating sedentary lifestyles in the city by encouraging physical activity. By adding graphic markers, colorful patterns or floor markings, walking, running or fitness trails become more attractive and motivating. These visual elements transform public space into an accessible exercise ground, encouraging city dwellers to adopt more active behaviors. In this way, nudges encourage regular physical activity by making the urban environment dynamic and stimulating.

Signage and road safety

Nudge can improve road safety by using ground paint to delineate crosswalks and cycle paths, as well as meeting zones, city centers and school zones. These visual markings enhance visibility and encourage drivers to slow down, especially in sensitive areas. By making pedestrian and cycle zones more visible, active design helps to make travel safer, promoting safer traffic for pedestrians, cyclists and children.

The different impacts of artistic signage

  • Design more impactful orientation elements.
  • Encourage strolling fun.
  • Reinforce the site's identity.
  • Create meeting points and identifiable landmarks.
  • Influencing the user's journey and behavior.
  • Secure an area or passageway by attracting attention (more for parking lots).
  • Poetically invite new uses by directing the flow of users, offering an aesthetic, cultural and living experience.

Hand-painted signage

Paint and color have great power. Especially when it comes to signage. Depending on the audience and the location, we design and produce unique signage. What's more, our expertise enables us to paint on a wide range of substrates:

  • Frescoes on interior or exterior walls
  • From floor to walls to ceiling
  • On all materials: plasterboard, concrete, brick, bitumen, synthetic...

Signs

We also produce hand-painted signs. For example, we regularly paint logos and lettering the old-fashioned way. In general, for this type of project, we only take care of the execution. Sometimes, however, we design the sign.

What's more, we can intervene whatever the condition of the support. We have craftsmen capable of renovating signs and facades.

Metal curtains

We also paint the metal curtains that protect commercial premises. This increases the visibility of the premises and helps to identify them.

It also prevents the curtain from being vandalized. Indeed, once a metal curtain has been painted, it is rare for it to be covered. The other advantage is that painting a metal curtain is quick and inexpensive. Our customers usually have a limited budget, but we have a range of products to suit.

Nudges

Nudge is a term that literally means "nudge". It is then used to refer to visual elements that encourage behavior without being explicitly written down. The traditional example is the drawing of the fly in airport pissoirs. This encourages users to aim carefully and improves cleanliness. At PALM, we paint large-format nudges.

Signage for different types of customers

First of all, we only work for professional customers. For example, we work for :

  • Companies, from start-ups to major groups.
  • Lessors and real estate professionals.
  • Architects, decorators and interior designers.
