Street Art Capitales Tour : Rome

L’emblématique Rome est connue avant tout pour la cité du Vatican, le Colisée et la Chapelle Sixtine. Mais qui a entendu parler de Testaccio-Ostiense ? 🕵️‍♀️

Just a stone's throw from the historic center, the Testaccio-Ostiense neighborhoods—once deserted—have managed to attract visitors thanks to their alternative and urban culture.

Born out of industry and its working-class laborers toward the end of the 19th century, then abandoned and left in ruins at the end of the 20th, the neighborhood is now an alternative and trendy hub where new trends and ancient traditions come together.

This craze took root in the 1990s with the rise of urban art, as punk culture and artists’ studios flourished side by side, covering walls with protest graffiti and political murals. Little by little, all the big names in street art began leaving their mark on monumental murals that drew crowds. 👀
