Estimate the surface area per color and the required paint quantities from an image
A tool developed by PALM and intended for artists, painters, and other muralists.
How to use the PALMulette
- Import the image
- Set the number of different colors
- Define the surface area of the mural in m²
- Choose the type of paint you want (our recommendations: Théofaçade for facades, Isolatex for playgrounds, and Technimix for all surfaces)
- Optional: adjust the color variation tolerance (by default set to 30; you can increase it so the tool treats very similar shades as one color, or lower it to clearly distinguish each nuance)
- Then click on each color to see the required quantities
How does the PALMulette work?
The PALMulette automatically calculates the number of pixels per color, and therefore the surface area per color, using an AI image recognition tool. Then, depending on the chosen paint type, the tool calculates the required paint quantity, taking into account the paint's coverage per m² and the number of coats needed as per the technical data sheet (usually 2 coats). Additionally, the tool identifies the closest shade in the Théodore Colorimix color chart.
