The artist's intervention on the walls places the patient on a different level than that of illness; rather, culture allows a connection to be reestablished, restoring humanity and serenity to a sterile space.
"Both the patient and the caregiver are seen differently and are perceived as sensitive and equal beings, capable of appreciating a work of art together. Art also provides patients with an irreplaceable means of expression. It thus contributes, as part of the care process, to the recovery of an identity that may have been damaged by illness," summarizes Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin.
