Who can organize a murals ?

First of all, there’s no age limit when it comes to enjoying murals. This applies to everyone from schoolchildren to residents of nursing homes.

Furthermore, no special skills are required. This means we can involve all the residents of a neighborhood or all the employees of a company, without any selection process.

In reality, the question is really how to get them involved. For example, we could simply have them vote on the project. Or we could involve them in the painting process. Finally, we could also involve them after the project is completed, through various interactions. Every project is tailor-made.

First of all, to get the public involved in a murals, you can have them vote. For example, you can organize a vote to choose an artist or a piece of art. This can be open to residents of a neighborhood or employees of a company. It’s a simple and inexpensive way to engage the public. participatory workshop with children

murals part of a participatory budgeting initiative

Would you like to transform your neighborhood with street art and art in general? We regularly create murals as part of participatory budgeting initiatives. Typically, it’s the residents leading the project who reach out to us. We then help them put together the application. If the project is approved by the city’s residents, we move on to the execution phase.

We can paint murals a building facade, a sports field, or even on the pavement.

Creating murals participatory workshops

Next, to further enhance the participatory aspect, workshops can be organized to create the artwork. In this case, professional artists lead these workshops and incorporate the participants’ ideas into their work.

You don’t need any artistic talent to do this. For example, we can organize workshops with schoolchildren. It also works well as an artistic team-building activity for companies. Finally, we’ve already created works of art—and even street art—with residents of a retirement home.

However, this obviously requires that the artists be trained to lead these workshops. This limits the artistic choices. Finally, the budget for such a project will depend on the number of participants.

The murals Building

Plus, painting a murals a great team-building activity. It’s simple, everyone enjoys it, and it strengthens team cohesion. And in the end, you have a beautiful murals. Generally, the artists start with a quick training session on the basics of street art. Then, they place stencils and masking tape on the surface. Next, the participants let their creativity flow and start painting. Finally, the stencils and tape are removed, and the result is magnificent.

These artistic team-building activities are designed for businesses, as well as schools and retirement homes.

murals to engage the public

Finally, we design and create interactive murals. Typically, the interaction is triggered by a QR code embedded in the murals. The interaction can then take various forms. For example, the murals come to life through augmented reality. Alternatively, it can be linked to a video game. In addition, the murals generate interactions on social media.

Examples of participatory murals

murals with artists in Dugny

We have created several collaborative murals for the social housing provider Seine-Saint-Denis Habitat. This particular project involved residents and community organizations in a neighborhood of Dugny. The artist duo Ensemble Réel created a mural depicting Malala Yousafzai (2014 Nobel Peace Prize laureate).

First, we organized collaborative workshops with local youth. The workshops focused on creating sketches and introducing participants to street art. Next, residents voted to select the final sketch. Finally, the artists painted the murals, with a helping hand from the local youth.
