The social network TikTokthe official sponsor ofUEFA EURO 2020told PALM to create an artistic soccer pitch in the heart of Paris. Our team was involved in in the search and selection of the sitewith the ambition of breathing new life into a neglected site.
The choice fell on Square Serpolletin the 18th arrondissement, where a soccer pitch had been abandoned for over 15 years. PALM undertook the complete rehabilitation of the sitefrom cleaning and painting to restoring the playing surfaces.
We invited artist Vincent Bargis to create an original work of art, in line with TikTok's graphic charter. His colorful, energetic and modular universe lent itself perfectly to this space. The project combines wallmurals (180 m²), floormurals (525 m²) and anamorphosisfor a strong, immersive visual effect.
For the inauguration, Sport dans la Ville brought together local youngsters for an exceptional match. Members of the France 98 team were also present, including Christian Karembeu and David Trezeguetfor a convivial and unifying moment.
This project combines reappropriation of urban space, contemporary art and social commitmentand demonstrates how sport and creativity can transform a neighborhood over the long term.
